The peak of Bradworthy's population was in 1871, when census returns showed the figure to be 1071.

Emigration and smaller families depleted the numbers as the years passed, a low of 738 being recorded in the 1951 census.

For some decades now there has been a steady increase, but a four figure population has not yet been reached (960 in 1993).
